Dear Save Spalding Friends -

 

Another eventful night with the School Board meeting in Union City. Here we got a chance to have a few community members speak to the school board as well as hear a few questions from the board members. We appreciate the 30+ folks that came out to show support as well as the 6 members of our community who spoke to the school board. Parklane was also present, and had 3 members speak to the board. We will summarize the questions over the next few days and share out. I anticipate that the video of the board meeting will be available on Fulton County's website in the coming days if you are interested in watching it.

 

A couple of other clarifications from today:

• The official vote will occur at the February 20, 2025 board meeting

• They will begin the redistricting process before the decision has been made. There is a virtual meeting on Monday 9/23 at 12pm and 6pm called Redistricting 101. There will then be in-person meetings held at Riverwood High School in October, November, and December to provide feedback.

It's been an amazing few days of community support for our school. Our community has really rallied together to save our school as evidenced by the turnout at these public meetings. We have a long road ahead, so we need to continue to show up!
